Our exam-prep content is original

Every lesson, question, answer option, and explanation in Gradical's prep courses is written by us. No College Board question, passage, stem, answer option, or explanatory text is copied, closely paraphrased, or reconstructed anywhere in this product. Where we describe an exam's structure (the number of questions, the time limit, the published knowledge categories and their percentage bands), we are citing published factual metadata about the exam, sourced from the official exam page and dated.

Open educational resources

OpenStax, Psychology 2e (Rose M. Spielman, William J. Jenkins, Marilyn D. Lovett; OpenStax, Rice University, 2020) is one of the reference works our Introductory Psychology course was written against. Psychology 2e is published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). Note the NonCommercial and ShareAlike terms, which differ from the plain CC BY licence used on many other OpenStax titles.

Our view: because Gradical is a commercial product, we do not adapt, remix, excerpt, or redistribute OpenStax text. Our lessons are written from primary sources (the original journal article, the federal regulation, the APA or .gov/.edu record) and OpenStax appears as a chapter-level pointer and a further-reading suggestion, not as material we reproduce. Facts and findings are not copyrightable; expression is, and the expression here is ours.

OpenStax additionally asks that its books not be ingested into large language models or generative AI offerings without permission. We honour that: no Gradical lesson is derived from OpenStax text, and our authoring rules direct writers to primary sources rather than to its prose. Access Psychology 2e for free at openstax.org/books/psychology-2e.

Sourcing policy

Guides and lessons carry inline attribution and a source list. We prefer statutes, federal regulations, system-office policy, official college catalogs, federal data (NCES/IPEDS, GAO, BLS), and peer-reviewed primary literature. We do not cite a page we have not read. Where the evidence is contested (a classic study that has failed replication, a policy in flux), we say so rather than flattening it. Policies change: every guide carries an updated date, and time-sensitive figures carry an as-of date.

Typefaces

Gradical self-hosts TeX Gyre Schola, released under the GUST Font License, and News Cycle, UnifrakturMaguntia and Courier Prime, released under the SIL Open Font Licence 1.1. The full licence texts ship alongside the font files in /fonts/.
